Brownell Hosting is the oldest Virtuoso host agency in the business. The hosting program has paved the way with its unique and successful business model as well as its innovative mentoring program. Brownell has more than 70 independent contractors located across the country who combine their expertise with Brownell’s wealth of industry connections to create once-in-a-lifetime experiences for their clients.

The history of the program begins in 1978 when Rebecca Willson opened a travel agency, which later was renamed Personal Travel Consultants. In 1988, Personal Travel Consultants became the first Virtuoso agency to specialize in hosting independent contractors. The agency later merged with Atlanta-based Sterling Travel in 2003, and Sterling was sold to Brownell in 2004.

As one of the leading upscale travel companies in the world, Brownell has been providing clients with exceptional travel experiences for over 128 years. Brownell is a member of Virtuoso, the world’s oldest and most prestigious leisure travel association. Less than 1% of America’s agencies are accepted for membership in Virtuoso. These select agencies must be able to offer clients extensive knowledge and wide-ranging experience on travel throughout the world.
